Students leaving school at 16 can apply and study at one of the seven Further Education colleges in Kent, rather than stay on to study at Sixth Form.
The courses could be either vocational, non-vocational or an apprenticeship (see apprenticeship section) as well as helping young people achieve the national standard in GCSE English and maths. Further Education supports the route to qualification and supports learners of all abilities and backgrounds to achieve their aspirations.
Alongside their main qualifications, students are also supported in gaining employability skills that will make them ready for the world of work or further training or education. Further Education is all about enabling our young people to fulfil their full potential.
Wherever students choose to study they will have access to professional, state-of-the-art industry standard teaching and training facilities, industry experienced tutors and plenty of student support to enable them to succeed.
